Social Media
Launched and managed the Hart Interdisciplinary Programs Instagram account, beginning in September 2023, as part of my role as Marketing Team Specialist. Posts are original content created in Canva, with our goals being to promote mental health and wellness, campus resources, departmental events, highlight outstanding faculty, and educate students on the rich history of these departments.
Each week, we see significant growth across the board on Instagram: an average reach increase of about 37.05%, a follower growth of approximately 46.5%, and a consistent 14% rise in engagement. Our overall weekly follower growth remains steady at 1.4%.

Mental Health Monday
On Mondays we post all things mental health and wellness, under the title “Mental Health Monday.” We want students to prioritize foods, activities, and habits that make them feel good and live a healthy life.
Tuesday Tips
In addition to posting trivia on Tuesdays, we also share “Tuesday Tips,” to help students navigate their college journeys in healthy and productive ways. This includes topics such as study tips, resources on finding your community on campus, upcoming career fairs to attend, and many more!
Trivia Tuesday
While the HIP instagram account features department-specific news and updates, we also love to shoutout all things Davis as well! This “Trivia Tuesday” post featured The Dirt, which is a great resource for students, staff, and faculty to be in the know about fun, art and community centered events occurring in the city of Davis.
Throwback Thursday
Thursdays are primarily reserved for throwbacks to past campus events, notable faculty, programs, resources, and other aspects of campus or town history. This post highlighted the Whole Earth Festival, an incredibly popular event for both students and community members.
Fun Friday
This post demonstrates another example of our “Fun Friday” series, advertising a lesser-known campus event hosted by a creative writing club and an undergraduate-run literary magazine. By promoting these events, we aim to help students integrate into campus life and make the most of their college experience.
Resources for Student Success
We want to make sure students are informed about the steps they need to take in order to succeed! Whether this means promoting job and internship opportunities on campus, promoting advising resources, or outlining the steps needed in order to graduate.
Reels are an essential element in modern social media strategy, driving engagement and capturing audience attention with their short, captivating format. By incorporating visually compelling content and creative storytelling, Reels not only showcase a brand's personality but also enhance its reach and impact.
Event Promotion
The grand opening of the new location of the C.N. Gorman Museum of Native American Art was one of the department’s most important events of 2023. We promoted the event in the weeks prior to the opening, and captured live photos and videos of the opening day activities and entertainment.
